Hello, my name is Andy Milam. I am a Catechist Presenter for the Diocese of Sioux City, in Iowa. This blog has one purpose and one purpose only, to recap and expand upon the ideas of the Basic Catechist Program which the Diocese of Sioux City has asked to be implemented. I am teaching out of Humboldt, Iowa at St. Mary's Parish. We are currently meeting every 3rd Sunday of the Month at the school, beginning at 7pm.
While this blog will not be a substitute for the class, it is required that those in the course must attend all sessions, it will hopefully give further insight into the material covered and will address specific questions which were not able to be answered in the class proper. You may consider this a resource for clarification.
The Diocese has been made aware of the blog and they are accepting of it. Please take note that you may comment on the material here and you may refer to the recaps and questions as often as you like. I will address comments as necessary, but I would like for everyone to feel free to comment openly and honestly. I will only moderate comments in the event that they are of an aggressive nature toward another poster, or if they are obstinate in denying a truth of the Church after it has been sufficiently addressed.
Also, be aware that I am making Melissa Caquelin, St. Mary's DRE and Justin Frato from the Diocesan Office of New Evangelization aware of this blog. I am extending to them the ability to moderate the blog/comments as well, so if they weigh in it is an expected action and I welcome it.
Thank you for your attention to this resource and feel free to use it as you wish, this is a resource for you to help in your understanding of the course material.
May God Keep You Close!
